Schoolie Week: 19th November – 4th December 2010
Year 12 graduates who live on the Surf Coast and want to celebrate their achievement locally can register for this year’s school leaver services free of charge.
Local VCE graduates can register in person at the Lorne or Torquay Visitor Information Centres on:
- Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 November from 10am-3pm,
- Monday 22 November and Monday 29 November from 10-3pm
- Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November from 10-3pm
Registering provides access to support services, venues, welcome barbecues, important local information, transport within Lorne and Torquay as well as special offers and a 2011 t-shirt (while stocks last). Registration for visitors is $25 or $10 without a t-shirt, with proceeds going towards the services provided during the school leavers period.
Local school leavers wanting a t-shirt with their registration will need to pay $15.

Surf Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Libby Coker, said registration was an important part of ensuring the safety of all school leavers, providing important local information to school leavers and funding local services during this time.
“We want our visitors to be able to make the most of their Surf Coast experience and to be able to safely enjoy their great achievement of finishing secondary school,” Cr Coker said.
“Registration provides the information, the access to services and activities that are an important part of making this happen.
“This year, we are offering free registration to local residents who would like to access the services provided to school leavers and celebrate their achievement locally.”
