Families of children with life-limiting illnesses can wait months or even years for vital equipment to ensure the quality of their lives. Some children’s conditions deteriorate to the point that the equipment required is no longer of benefit to them when it finally arrives.
Some children actually lose their fight while still waiting for equipment.
In 2009, 5 walkers and 3 bike riders raised almost $20,000 specifically for the RCH's Paediatric Palliative Care unit. And that's why we're doing our Walk again in 2010.
The Rotary Club of Werribee are embarking on their second 200km Charity Walk in mid October.
This year’s Walk is going to be entirely within Victoria and is going from Cape Otway to Werribee over 9 days – commencing next Friday (15th Oct) and finishing in Werribee on Saturday 23rd. So far we have 12 Walkers participating for the full 9 days, and many others joining for selected days en-route. Our Walkers cover all ages and levels of fitness, so all are welcome.
We are looking for people from the Surf Coast & Geelong areas who may wish to support this year’s Walk either by donating, or by obtaining sponsorship to Walk all or part of the way.
